Advisor I – Learner Funding

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Evaluate learner eligibility for Title IV, military, and various funding programs.

• Provide financial aid estimates and packaging, effectively communicating program obligations and financial responsibilities.

• Assist learners, families, and relevant stakeholders with funding options and address any funding inquiries.

• Review learner documentation for eligibility, completeness, accuracy, and compliance.

• Make determinations regarding special circumstances and escalate cases for professional judgment decisions.

• Update the Master Cohort List daily to reflect incoming enrollment activities.

• Maintain and update learner records in the Student Information System (SIS).

• Conduct verification processes, which include examining documents, matching data to ISIR, resolving conflicting information, and making ISIR corrections.

• Address ISIR rejections, C-codes, and conflicting information in accordance with Title IV regulations.

• Collaborate with COD and NSLDS.

• Work alongside other functions to deliver high-quality service to learners.

• Engage in biweekly Learner Funding meetings, one-on-ones, coaching sessions, trainings, and team meetings.

• Attend meetings and conferences to enhance understanding of financial aid policies, practices, and procedures.

• Utilize COD, NSLDS, and CPS to ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

• Participate in additional functional projects as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience, preferably in higher education or student funding.

• Proven knowledge of Federal Student Aid and/or military funding.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint.
