This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Conduct thorough title searches from the origin of ownership to the present for properties throughout Texas.
• Review deeds, mortgages, easements, liens, judgments, tax documents, plats, and other pertinent records.
• Assemble and create detailed title abstracts, run sheets, and title reports.
• Confirm the accuracy of legal descriptions and chains of title.
• Detect title discrepancies and offer clear documentation or suggestions for their resolution.
• Engage professionally with title examiners, underwriters, attorneys, and landmen.
• Efficiently utilize county clerk records, online databases, and abstract plants.
• Uphold precision, promptness, and confidentiality in all title research endeavors.
• A minimum of 10 years of title abstracting experience in the State of Texas.
• In-depth knowledge of Texas real estate laws, land records, and title processes.
• Skilled in researching courthouse records, both online and in person.
• Strong comprehension of legal descriptions, including metes and bounds as well as lot and block.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Keen attention to detail and capability to juggle multiple projects at once.
• Expertise in title production software such as SoftPro, Landtech, TitlePoint, or similar tools.
• Prior experience in preparing Title Opinions or collaborating directly with attorneys and landmen is preferred.
• A background in oil & gas title abstracting or commercial property research is preferred.
