This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Oversee the daily management of the Navvy+, the PreK–12 formative and screening platform from Pearson School Assessment.
• Articulate the product vision and generate product concepts for engineering teams.
• Transition capabilities from ideas to actual use by outlining problems, release versions, prototypes, specifications, and delivery strategies.
• Manage and prioritize the Navvy+ roadmap based on available capacity and strategic priorities.
• Recognize enhancements for the platform and services catering to both current and prospective users.
• Convert issues into actionable engineering requirements, while overseeing the backlog and defect prioritization.
• Engage in stand-up meetings and iteration planning alongside engineering, Pearson development, and external delivery teams.
• Support the creation of test cases and quality assurance documentation.
• Oversee product release timelines, align district requirements with development readiness, and establish release criteria.
• Generate release notes and product documentation for implementation, training, and support teams.
• Collaborate across various functions including engineering, product, measurement, content, implementation, support, marketing, sales, and leadership.
• Specify AI-assisted feature requirements, evaluate bias and risks, and define necessary guardrails, transparency, and human oversight.
• Communicate proficiently with engineers and technologists without requiring programming skills.
• Travel occasionally and perform other assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business management, or equivalent experience in managing large assessment technology platforms.
• An MBA is preferred for those with a business management background.
• Strong comprehension of technology to facilitate cross-functional communication.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
• Demonstrated success in a dynamic software development environment and/or over 5 years in PreK–12 education technology, academic assessment, or instructional products.
• Experience in stakeholder management, customer support, and fundamental agile methodology.
• Proven ability to take products from concept to live users and deliver on fixed deadlines without negatively impacting customers.
• Experience serving as the product liaison to an engineering team, including drafting requirements, managing the backlog and defect priorities, and participating in agile ceremonies.
• Practical proficiency with AI tools for prototyping, feasibility assessments, drafting, documentation, and analysis, with the discernment to determine when outputs need validation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and sound judgment regarding product quality.
• Strong logical reasoning skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Willingness and capability to work effectively as part of a virtual team.
