Advanced Specialist, Implementation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Offer expert advice on assessment design, content creation, and evidence-based methodologies for statewide assessments.

• Act as the primary liaison for client interactions regarding content development needs and educator committee meetings.

• Convert standards and blueprints into item and test specifications; obtain client approvals and maintain necessary documentation.

• Collaborate with Psychometrics on blueprint configuration, test design, data evaluations, and standard setting inputs.

• Set up item bank metadata and test maps while overseeing form assembly for both paper and online administrations.

• Develop, monitor, and revise labor and non-salary forecasts.

• Lead discussions regarding scope with content development vendors; initiate Statements of Work (SOWs) and manage escalations.

• Oversee and approve content development timelines; handle change control and document revisions.

• Identify and document project-specific risks; create mitigation and contingency strategies.

• Resolve item/test development challenges and spearhead corrective measures.

• Develop and implement customer communication strategies.

• Organize customer review sessions and monitor customer satisfaction metrics.

• Establish escalation procedures to ensure prompt issue resolution.

• Manage staffing; provide feedback on performance and coaching to team members and vendor partners.

• Promote team collaboration and nurture a positive team atmosphere.

• Utilize AI-driven tools in the creation, review, and enhancement of assessment content.

• Incorporate AI-generated materials into assessment workflows with editorial oversight and documentation of provenance.

• Stay updated on AI advancements and provide practical guidance and tool suggestions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in the educational testing and assessment sector.

• Experience in client-facing roles and leading cross-functional teams.

• Proficiency in item and test development specifically for statewide K–12 assessments.

• Familiarity with both paper and online testing formats.

• Knowledge of psychometric principles applicable to development.

• Experience with statewide assessments.

• Competence in project and financial planning.

• Strong vendor management capabilities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management abilities.

• Flexibility in adapting to enterprise systems and tools.

• Willingness to travel throughout the year, with increased travel during summer months.

• Proven excellence in AI-supported content development within a regulated, compliant workflow.

• Experience or familiarity with prompting, refining, and assessing AI-generated content for educational assessments.

• Capability to implement accessibility and bias checks on AI-generated materials.

• Openness to learning and adapting to new AI tools and methodologies.
