ADMS Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and maintain the ADMS network model utilizing customer GIS and asset data.

• Execute initial and incremental model imports using ADMS model construction tools.

• Confirm network connectivity, topology, phasing, and electrical parameters.

• Detect and address data-quality issues in collaboration with customer GIS and network teams, ensuring resolution.

• Link SCADA/RTU points to corresponding model objects.

• Create and sustain one-line, schematic, and geographic displays.

• Prepare and verify application data for DMS functionalities, including load flow, FLISR, and Volt/VAR optimization.

• Prepare and validate OMS data, which includes mapping customers to transformers, managing crews, and overseeing devices.

• Assist in factory and site acceptance testing, cutover, go-live, and ongoing post-go-live model maintenance.

• Educate customer modeling staff to ensure model sustainability post-handover.

• Take ownership of assigned technical deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

• Collaborate with GE Vernova regional ADMS experts, project management, Implementation Services teams, and customers.

• Acquire extensive knowledge of ADMS network modeling and related applications.

• Recommend solutions that deviate from established parameters with guidance and utilize technical and analytical skills to address challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a master's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Automation and Control, Industrial Computing, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of experience in distribution network modeling, GIS, SCADA/ADMS/DMS, network planning tools, or similar utility software with an African customer base.

• Strong understanding of distribution network topology and equipment, encompassing substations, feeders, switching devices, transformers, and protection devices.

• Knowledge of power system fundamentals, including load flow and phasing.

• Practical experience with GIS tools and data, such as ESRI ArcGIS, Smallworld, or QGIS, along with CIM/XML and shapefiles.

• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, or scripting for data transformation and validation.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Willingness to travel to customer locations across Africa for training and collaboration with regional teams.
