This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Conduct a variety of telephonic hearings on a daily basis.
• Take testimony and issue evidentiary rulings.
• Develop comprehensive hearings and manage their progression while upholding judicial demeanor and decorum.
• Review case files and/or hearing records in advance of hearings.
• Ensure timely legal notification to parties regarding the hearing's time, date, location, and pertinent issues.
• Draft and deliver prompt final decisions that apply Federal and Arizona law to the facts presented during hearings.
• Respond promptly to work-related communications throughout the workday.
• Handle a significant volume of cases within set timelines.
• Exceptional time management abilities.
• Capability to manage a high volume of cases within strict deadlines.
• Proficient in writing clearly and concisely about intricate legal matters.
• Extensive knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, rules of evidence, administrative procedures, judicial and legal ethics, and due process requirements.
• Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, federal and state laws and regulations relevant to administrative programs.
• Comprehension of human behavior and psychology.
• Proficient in word processing and communication software, with a capacity to learn proprietary applications.
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to swiftly analyze and synthesize complex information from diverse sources.
• Skill in diplomatically managing and reducing conflict between parties.
• Experience as an administrative hearing officer.
• Degree from an accredited undergraduate university or college.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Residing in Arizona.
• Membership in and good standing with any state Bar Association.
• Availability from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Arizona time.
• Ability to work remotely using personal computer/equipment if located outside Arizona.
• Professional experience in the role of Administrative Hearing Officer or in conducting administrative hearings.
• Experience with telephonic hearings, applying rules of evidence and due process, issuing evidentiary rulings, and crafting written decisions.
• Monday-Friday work schedule.
