Adjunct Assistant Professor – MSN

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Facilitate online courses for post-licensure programs.

• Provide online instruction for RN-BSN or MSN programs at Unitek Learning colleges or Workforce Solutions.

• Teach students using the established curriculum for designated classes.

• Enhance instructional quality through innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Assist in reviewing and updating syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course goals and communicate this progress promptly.

• Support strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Keep attendance and grade records and assist in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Maintain ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic means, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and continue education hours for licensure renewal.

• Act as a subject matter expert for university and accreditation requirements/reporting.

• Conduct weekly recorded synchronous sessions for courses with unit/final exams via platforms such as Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, or similar.

• Hold at least two office hours each week.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Dean.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must reside OUTSIDE the state of California.

• Registered Nurse with active and unrestricted licensure or eligible in all states where MSN programs are offered.

• Registered Nurse with current and unencumbered licensure in California.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.

• Terminal Degree in Nursing (DNP, EdD, PhD) is mandatory.

• Up-to-date knowledge of nursing practice is essential.

• Ability to mentor students effectively.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• Minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience as an RN.

• At least 1 year of prior online teaching experience in pre-licensure nursing using a Learning Management System (LMS) is required.

• Documented experience in educational methodology, including educational theory, current concepts related to subjects taught, current clinical practice experience, and techniques for distance education delivery.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student body.
