Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Statistics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses within the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Instruct on subjects assigned, including Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance instructional quality by evaluating and implementing innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Assist in the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course objectives and provide timely feedback on their progress.

• Support strategic planning and the assessment of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain records of student attendance and grades and aid in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present relevant and current course content.

• Ensure ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic correspondence, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and fulfill continuing education requirements for license renewal, if applicable.

• Stay updated with college developments.

• Participate in quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Carry out other responsibilities assigned by the Associate Dean—Online Programs/Program Director—Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is required.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Prior experience in online teaching is essential, specifically using a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Demonstrated ability to mentor students is required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

• A documented background in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts associated with the subjects taught, or recent clinical practice experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook and Word, as well as PowerPoint and other MS Office products as required.

• Capability to teach general education courses across various subjects, including Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.
