Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education Psychology/Sociology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Deliver classes in subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and design coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance the quality of instruction by exploring and applying innovative teaching methods and techniques.

• Assist in the evaluation and modification of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course objectives, providing timely feedback on their advancement.

• Contribute to strategic planning and the assessment of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain accurate student attendance and grade records and aid in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Engage in ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic correspondence, and other suitable methods.

• Take part in professional development activities, maintain continuing education hours to ensure licensure renewal if necessary, and keep abreast of college updates.

• Attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is required.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Capability to mentor students effectively.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Prior experience in online teaching is required, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• A documented background in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts related to specific subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other necessary MS Office applications.

• A strong commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student body.
