Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Political Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Deliver instruction in subjects such as Political Science and various general education topics including Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance instructional effectiveness through innovative teaching methods and approaches.

• Contribute to the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course goals and communicate their progress in a timely manner.

• Support strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Keep student attendance and grade records and assist in the collection of program data.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present up-to-date course content.

• Maintain ongoing communication with students through office hours and electronic correspondence.

• Engage in professional development and fulfill continuing education requirements for license renewal, if necessary.

• Remain informed about updates from the college.

• Attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean—Online Programs or the Program Director—Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is required; a Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in mentoring students.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Prior experience in online teaching is mandatory, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented expertise in educational methodologies relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts specific to subjects, or current clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A strong commitment to teaching and engaging with a diverse, multicultural, and multigenerational student population.
