Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Political Science

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses within ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Create coursework for the classes assigned to you.

• Enhance instructional quality by evaluating and implementing innovative teaching methods and techniques.

• Aid in the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course objectives and provide timely updates on their progress.

• Support strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain attendance records and grades for students while assisting with program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to present current course materials.

• Ensure continuous communication with students through office hours and electronic channels.

• Engage in professional development and keep up with continuing education hours for license renewal, if necessary.

• Stay informed about updates from the college.

• Attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs or the Program Director-Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is required.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Ability to mentor students effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Prior online teaching experience is required, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented experience in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts related to specific subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student population.

• Capability to teach general education courses in subjects such as Political Science, Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, and Critical Reasoning.
