Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses within the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Guide students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance the quality of instruction by exploring and applying various innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Support the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Regularly assess students to gauge their progress towards curriculum and course goals, communicating this progress in a timely manner.

• Contribute to strategic planning and the assessment of instructional initiatives to maintain program quality.

• Keep accurate student attendance and grade records while assisting with program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to present relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Maintain ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic communication, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and uphold CE hours to ensure licensure renewal, if applicable.

• Stay informed about college updates.

• Attend Quarterly Online Faculty meetings.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree in English is required.

• Experience in Higher Education instruction is necessary.

• Previous online teaching experience is required, specifically using a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Proven ability to mentor students is essential.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• Documented experience in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts related to specific subjects taught, or recent clinical practice experience.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools as needed.

• Capability to teach courses such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• A commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student body is required.
