Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses in ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Deliver instruction in subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for designated classes.

• Enhance instructional quality through innovative teaching strategies and methodologies.

• Assist in the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress towards curriculum and course objectives and provide timely feedback on progress.

• Support strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain attendance and grading records and assist in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Ensure ongoing communication with students through office hours and electronic correspondence.

• Engage in professional development activities and participate in quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Stay informed about college updates and maintain CE hours for licensure renewal, if applicable.

• Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs/Program Director-Online Nursing.

• A Master's Degree is required.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in mentoring students.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Prior online teaching experience is mandatory, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented expertise in educational methodologies relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts related to specific subjects taught, or recent clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• A commitment to teaching and engaging with a diverse, multicultural, and multigenerational student body.

• Ability to maintain CE hours to ensure licensure renewal, if applicable.
