Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Chemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses in ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Cover subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for designated classes.

• Enhance instructional quality by exploring and implementing innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Assist in reviewing and updating syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress toward curriculum and course objectives and communicate their progress in a timely manner.

• Contribute to strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Maintain attendance and grading records while aiding in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to provide relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Facilitate ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic correspondence, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and uphold continuing education requirements for license renewal, if applicable.

• Attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs or Program Director-Online Nursing.

• A Master's Degree is required; a Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Capability to mentor students effectively.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Prior experience in online teaching is essential, with proficiency in a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Proven background in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, contemporary concepts related to specific subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Dedication to teaching and engaging with a diverse and multigenerational student body.
