Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Basic Sciences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses as part of the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Deliver assigned science courses, such as biology, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, medical terminology, microbiology, and nutrition.

• Educate students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance instructional quality by exploring and applying innovative teaching strategies and techniques.

• Assist in the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress toward curriculum and course objectives and communicate their progress in a timely manner.

• Contribute to strategic planning and the evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Keep track of student attendance and grade records while aiding in program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to present relevant and up-to-date course content.

• Maintain ongoing communication with students through office hours, electronic correspondence, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and attend faculty meetings.

• Stay informed about college updates and fulfill continuing education hours as required.

• Carry out additional duties assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs or Program Director-Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is required; a Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in mentoring students is essential.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• Prior online teaching experience is required, utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented expertise in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including educational theory and practice, modern concepts related to specific subjects taught, or current clinical practice experience.

• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, particularly Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Capability to teach courses such as Introduction to Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Anatomy and Physiology Lab, Pathophysiology, Medical Terminology, Microbiology, Microbiology Lab, and Nutrition.

• A strong commitment to teaching and engaging with a multicultural and multigenerational student body.

• Ability to maintain continuing education hours to ensure renewed licensure, if applicable.
