Adjunct Assistant Professor – General Education, Basic Sciences

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Teach general education courses in the ASVN, BSN, and RN to BSN degree completion programs.

• Conduct classes in subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Communication/Public Speaking, Math, Statistics, Chemistry, Basic Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, History, Ethics, Political Science, and Critical Reasoning.

• Guide students and create coursework for the classes assigned.

• Enhance instructional quality by exploring and applying innovative teaching methodologies and techniques.

• Aid in the review and revision of syllabi and instructional guidelines.

• Assess students' progress in relation to curriculum and course objectives, providing timely feedback on their progress.

• Support strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives.

• Keep track of student attendance and grades, assisting with program data collection.

• Utilize the Learning Management System to deliver up-to-date and relevant course content.

• Maintain regular communication with students through office hours, electronic means, and other suitable methods.

• Engage in professional development and attend quarterly online faculty meetings.

• Fulfill continuing education requirements for renewed licensure, if applicable.

• Remain informed on college updates.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Dean-Online Programs or the Program Director-Online Nursing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master's Degree is mandatory.

• A Doctoral Degree is preferred.

• Proven experience in mentoring students.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Required prior experience in online teaching using a Learning Management System (LMS).

• Documented expertise in educational methodology relevant to teaching assignments, including education theory and practice, current concepts related to specific subjects, or recent clinical practice experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other necessary MS Office applications.

• A strong commitment to teaching and engaging with a diverse and multigenerational student body.

• Ability to maintain continuing education hours to ensure licensure renewal, if applicable.
