Accounts Receivable Representative III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Reach out to insurance companies for updates on pending claims

• Manage and follow through on appeals to insurance providers

• Re-submit claims as necessary

• Handle daily correspondence

• Utilize spreadsheets with basic proficiency

• Review adjustment requests and complete them when suitable

• Address manual tasks assigned to Accounts Receivable for follow-up

• Manage outstanding accounts receivable from designated work queues

• Achieve department productivity benchmarks

• Maintain an accuracy rating of 97% or higher on audited accounts

• Uphold strict confidentiality

• Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) across various workflows and multiple payers

• Identify and relay trends to leadership

• Provide training support for peers regarding payers and systems

• Collect data and collaborate with leadership for reporting

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred

• 1–3 years of professional or healthcare experience preferred

• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, appropriate reimbursements, and adjustment percentages

• Familiarity with medical terminology

• Advanced understanding of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and EOBs

• Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations

• High-level data entry accuracy

• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and ASA codes

• Skills in problem-solving, decision-making, analysis, and attention to detail

• Proficiency in gathering and reporting information

• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and external clients

• Capability to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision

• Self-driven and goal-oriented

• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams

• Strong public communication skills

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
