This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Gather outstanding accounts receivable from both government and commercial third-party payers.
• Reach out to insurance companies to inquire about the status of pending claims.
• Process and pursue insurance appeals as necessary.
• Refile claims when required.
• Handle daily correspondence.
• Audit and finalize adjustment requests when applicable.
• Address manual accounts receivable follow-up tasks.
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable from designated work queues.
• Achieve department productivity goals.
• Maintain an accuracy rating of at least 97% for audited accounts.
• Develop expertise in various workflows and payers.
• Identify and relay trends to leadership.
• Carry out other designated responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent certification.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of professional or healthcare experience is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Receivable is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic math skills for calculating anesthesia units, reimbursements, and percentages.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Advanced understanding of insurance processing, regulations, laws, and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
• Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations.
• Proficient data entry skills.
• Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and ASA coding.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
• Capability to gather and report relevant information.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, physicians, and external clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
• Self-driven and goal-oriented.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
• Capability to perform occasional standing and walking, frequent sitting and hand/finger movements, and operate office equipment.
• Must uphold confidentiality at all times.
