This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Gather outstanding accounts receivable from both government and commercial third-party payers.
• Reach out to insurance companies to inquire about the status of outstanding claims.
• Process and follow up on insurance appeals as necessary.
• Resubmit claims when required.
• Handle daily correspondence.
• Maintain a fundamental proficiency in spreadsheets.
• Review and complete adjustment requests when appropriate.
• Resolve manual accounts receivable follow-up tasks.
• Manage outstanding accounts receivable from designated work queues.
• Achieve departmental productivity standards.
• Sustain an accuracy rate of at least 97% on audited accounts.
• Uphold strict confidentiality.
• Cultivate subject-matter expertise across various workflows and payers.
• Identify and relay trends to leadership.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field is preferred.
• 1–3 years of professional/healthcare experience is preferred.
• 1–3 years of Accounts Receivable experience is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills for calculating anesthesia units, ensuring proper reimbursement, and determining percentages for adjustments.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Advanced understanding of insurance processing, guidelines, laws, and explanation of benefits (EOBs).
• Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
• Accurate data entry capabilities.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and ASA coding.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to gather and present information effectively.
• Capable of working collaboratively with staff, physicians, and external clients.
• Ability to function as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Self-driven and goal-oriented.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
• Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, which includes occasional standing and walking, frequent sitting and hand/finger movements, and effective verbal and written communication.
• Competent in using office equipment in either an office or remote environment.
• Eligibility for a quarterly bonus (not guaranteed; dependent on company and individual performance).
