Accounts Receivable Representative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Gather revenue generated by the Sales team.

• Establish enduring relationships with customers and promote positive interactions.

• Engage with customer organizations regarding overdue invoices and billing concerns.

• Oversee a portfolio of 300 to 600 collection accounts across Canadian or U.S. territories.

• Communicate with around 40 customers daily via email and phone.

• Negotiate payment terms to optimize the recovery amount.

• Cultivate and sustain customer relationships while adhering to Softchoice’s accounts receivable policy.

• Handle the suspension of overdue accounts to minimize loss risk.

• Authorize orders up to $50,000 and recommend orders exceeding this amount to the relevant managers.

• Work alongside sales representatives to proactively address payment, billing, pricing, product, or service challenges.

• Document and monitor collection activities using the monthly aging report.

• Achieve individual and team collection objectives.

• Conduct periodic account reconciliations.

• Collaborate as part of a team and adapt to a rapidly changing technological environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• A college diploma (preferably in accounting or finance) or equivalent experience.

• 2 to 3 years of B2B collections experience concentrating on mid-market to enterprise clients.

• Familiarity with the collections escalation procedure.

• Strong problem-solving capabilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of basic accounting principles.

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Relevant account management experience.

• Customer service-oriented mindset.

• Fluency in English is necessary.

• Two years of experience in the technology sector is advantageous.
