Accounts Payable Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Examine invoices to ensure they are accompanied by the necessary documentation.

• Efficiently and accurately process a high volume of vendor invoices for approval routing.

• Assign purchases to designated customers, locations, and departments.

• Prepare invoices for weekly payments and manage the distribution of checks or electronic payments.

• Make certain that vendor accounts do not fall past due, including investigating vendor-related issues.

• Address inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders regarding invoice and payment statuses.

• Engage in projects and ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing accounts payable processes and service delivery.

• Annually prepare and file forms 1096 and 1099.

• Oversee, track, and document all corporate credit card transactions.

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.

• Assist with special projects and reporting as needed.

• Provide assistance during the company’s annual audit.

• Carry out other related tasks and special assignments as necessary to meet business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Preferred experience with invoice automation or invoice capture systems.

• High level of precision and attention to detail, coupled with a customer service-focused approach.

• Results-oriented with strong determination and follow-through; shows initiative, accountability, and urgency.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adjust in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while meeting deadlines.

• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and communication abilities.

• Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment while prioritizing tasks effectively.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and account reconciliation skills.
