Accounts Payable Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Direct and manage all accounts payable functions

• Ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant handling of vendor invoices and payments

• Lead the North American Accounts Payable department

• Maintain robust internal controls

• Promote process enhancements and standardization

• Assist with month-end closing activities, accruals, acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations

• Execute payment runs and develop an understanding of vendor payment schedules

• Reconcile essential Accounts Payable accounts and oversee aging reports

• Ensure the integrity and compliance of vendor master data

• Supervise invoice processing, payment execution, expense reports, and vendor maintenance

• Cultivate vendor relationships and resolve escalated issues

• Create and maintain process documentation and training materials

• Lead, develop, and mentor the Accounts Payable team

• Aid in the standardization of best practices among Accounts Payable teams in North America, Europe, and Asia in anticipation of a global solution

• Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline

• 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable preferred

• 2+ years of supervisory or managerial experience preferred

• Experience in a manufacturing or shared services setting preferred

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP preferred

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and internal controls

• Understanding of GAAP and financial closing procedures

• Working knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations

• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities

• Continuous improvement mindset with meticulous attention to detail
