This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Manage the complete accounts payable process, encompassing invoice processing, payment execution, credit applications, vendor management, and account reconciliation.
• Lead and mentor a team of three to four accounts payable associates.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, tax regulations, and accounting standards, including W-9 and 1099 reporting.
• Identify, suggest, and implement enhancements to the accounts payable processes, automation, and system improvements.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships while addressing invoicing, payment, and discrepancy concerns.
• Assist with month-end closing activities through accounts payable reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
• Generate and analyze accounts payable reports concerning cash flow, payment cycles, and vendor performance.
• Work in conjunction with IT and finance teams to uphold and enhance accounts payable systems.
• Prepare documentation and reports for both internal and external audits.
• Create training materials and standard operating procedures for the accounts payable team.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations to optimize processes and support organizational goals.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounts payable.
• Proven experience in managing accounts payable functions, including vendor management, invoice processing, and payment execution.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring an accounts payable team.
• Background in fast-paced, high-growth environments, preferably within e-commerce or technology sectors.
• Proficient with accounts payable tools such as Bill.com, Microsoft Dynamics, and other ERP systems.
• Advanced skills in Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex data analysis.
• Established record of process improvement.
• Understanding of accounts payable-related tax compliance, particularly W-9 and 1099 reporting.
• Experience in implementing or utilizing automation tools for accounts payable processes.
• Capacity to manage projects related to accounts payable, including system upgrades or process transformations.
• CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
• Experience with businesses that operate in multi-entity or multi-location settings is a plus.
• Familiarity with international payments, vendors, and currencies is beneficial.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
