Accounting Specialist – Especialista de Contabilidad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily accounting and tax operations.

• Report significant incidents.

• Prepare financial reports.

• Coordinate monthly and annual accounting closures.

• Collaborate with the financial team and lead internal and external audits.

• Supervise and manage accounting processes, ensuring compliance with tax, fiscal, and regulatory standards of entities under the supervision of the Financial Superintendency and the Superintendency of Companies.

• Assess current accounting practices and suggest improvements.

• Coordinate quarterly financial audits, annual closures, and corporate financial controls.

• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements.

• Execute financial analyses and special projects.

• Monitor daily accounting records and approve manual adjustments.

• Implement accounting policies, principles, and methodologies.

• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure their proper application.

• Support the preparation of regulatory reports directed to controlling entities.

• Maintain collaboration with financial management and other key areas to generate financial information.

• Lead the relationship with auditors and regulatory bodies.

• Monitor internal controls of accounting, tax, and transversal processes.

• Analyze and manage accounting and tax definitions timely and based on sound principles.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting, with a valid professional license.

• Over 6 years of experience in financial and tax accounting, preferably in financial sector entities.

• Experience in Big4 is desirable.

• Involvement in external and internal audit processes.

• Knowledge of monthly and annual accounting closures.

• Familiarity with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Colombian tax regulations (DIAN), and requirements from controlling entities.

• Proficiency in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.

• Internal control and management of accounting/tax risks.

• Proficient in ERP tools (such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and advanced Excel.
