Accounting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Prepare and issue invoices, credit memos, and adjustments for customer accounts.

• Record customer payments and apply them accordingly.

• Monitor outstanding balances and actively follow up on overdue accounts.

• Investigate short payments, credits, discrepancies, and other account issues.

• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve any outstanding items.

• Prepare and maintain accounts receivable aging and collections reports.

• Review, verify, and process vendor invoices efficiently.

• Match invoices with purchase orders and relevant supporting documentation.

• Maintain accurate vendor records and manage payment schedules.

• Prepare vendor payments for review and approval processes.

• Monitor payment obligations to ensure timely processing.

• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate any billing discrepancies.

• Conduct reconciliations for bank and corporate credit card transactions.

• Maintain precise accounting records and necessary supporting documentation.

• Assist with journal entries and general ledger activities as needed.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Prepare account reconciliations and financial schedules.

• Identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies.

• Report directly to the Finance Manager.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of direct accounting experience, covering both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and verbal.

• Practical experience with QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting or ERP system.

• Strong grasp of general accounting principles, including general ledger operations, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end procedures.

• Experience in preparing or working with aging reports for AR and AP.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

• Ability to investigate discrepancies and work independently to resolve accounting issues.
