Accounting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Manage, analyze, and reconcile designated General Ledger accounts.

• Investigate and resolve inconsistencies in financial records.

• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for assigned accounts.

• Examine variances and create corrective entries.

• Develop, maintain, and track monthly cash flow projections.

• Prepare monthly journal entries, allocations, accruals, and adjusting entries in compliance with GAAP and organizational policies.

• Extract and analyze data from EMERGE and integrate it into MIP.

• Review, validate, and authorize invoices within Compass and import them into MIP.

• Assist with annual financial audits, tax submissions, and regulatory compliance reporting.

• Manage and oversee Positive Pay processes.

• Aid in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

• Provide backup support to the Accounts Payable Supervisor as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in Accounting.

• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Capability to maintain precise accounting records and supporting documentation.

• Ability to complete reconciliations, analyses, and reporting tasks within set deadlines.

• Proficient in using EMERGE, MIP, and Compass accounting systems.

• Ability to assist with audits, tax submissions, and regulatory compliance requirements.
