This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Act as the finance and accounting leader for Fringe.
• Take ownership of the monthly close process, which includes managing the close calendar, journal entries, reconciliations, and sign-offs for both subscription and marketplace revenue.
• Oversee revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 for PEPM subscriptions, employer-funded marketplace expenditures, gifting, and partner revenue sharing.
• Maintain the roll-forwards for deferred revenue and points liability.
• Ensure the balance sheet remains accurate and transparent.
• Generate internal and external monthly reports, featuring variance and flux analysis along with the executive dashboard.
• Assist with annual audits and tax processes in collaboration with external CPA firms.
• Manage treasury functions, cash forecasting, banking relationships, operating balances, outbound wire transfers, and ACH payments.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, customer invoicing, billing accuracy, and vendor payment processes.
• Collaborate with Customer Success on collections and with People Operations on payroll and PEO matters.
• Review accounting activities to ensure a high standard of work.
• Serve as the primary internal contact for finance-related issues, including contract terms, vendor inquiries, funding schedules, commission plans, and budget planning.
• Identify and improve processes that hinder business efficiency.
• Champion operational enhancements.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related area.
• Over 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP, particularly ASC 606.
• Practical experience in managing monthly close procedures.
• Proven track record in fulfilling internal and external reporting obligations.
• Familiarity with accounting technology and advanced spreadsheet capabilities.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Tabs, Anrok, FloQast, Salesforce, Claude, and Google Sheets.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to drive operational improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with a Big 4 firm, high-growth startups, management consulting, or investment banking is preferred.
• CPA certification or an active license application is preferred.
• Preferred experience in SaaS or marketplace environments, particularly with deferred revenue, points or stored value, or multi-party revenue structures.
