This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process, ensuring the delivery of precise financial statements based on a fixed schedule.
• Oversee the order to cash workflow, which includes managing invoicing for royalties, conducting aging analysis, preparing consolidated customer statements, and liaising with customers and Berlitz colleagues in other countries.
• Prepare and evaluate GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting packages for the executive team and parent company.
• Design, implement, and oversee internal controls pertaining to the order to cash process and financial reporting (ICFR).
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and lead the annual audit process.
• Ensure adherence to U.S. GAAP and tax filing responsibilities in collaboration with tax and legal advisors.
• Propel enhancements in the order to cash process, general ledger operations, and closing calendar.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, and regional finance leaders on forecasting, cash management, and special initiatives.
• Present financial outcomes and control issues to senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including both public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and industry exposure.
• Demonstrated experience in managing multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations for a global organization.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO).
• Practical experience with ERP/consolidation systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Access, Oracle, OneStream, or Hyperion).
• Proven leadership experience in managing interactions with accounting teams.
• Experience in a services, education, or franchise-based business is preferred.
• Background in a private-equity-owned or internationally parented organization is preferred.
• Awareness of statutory reporting obligations outside the U.S. is preferred.
• Previous experience presenting to stakeholders of the parent company is preferred.
• An active CPA license is preferred.
