This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the complete payment transaction lifecycle, including system architecture, execution, reconciliation, and error management.

• Supervise the accounting for the entire lifecycle of monetary movements, encompassing payment initiation, reconciliation, and reporting.

• Oversee the revenue process for payments point-of-sale (POS) terminals and assist with billing and inventory accounting for these terminals.

• Reconcile all monetary movements to ensure that activities occurred as anticipated.

• Take ownership of month-end and quarter-end closings for payments and platform services revenue, including journal entries, accruals, flux analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Identify, triage, and assist in addressing payment-related incidents alongside cross-functional and external partners.

• Detect and mitigate payment errors and losses.

• Collaborate closely with backend systems to guarantee accurate and timely payment processing and reporting.

• Create and maintain documentation for payment processes and procedures.

• Work in partnership with risk, underwriting, sales, operations, and backend systems teams to resolve discrepancies and promote process enhancements.

• Provide support to the Operational Leadership and executive team on significant financial decisions.

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing accounting team.

• Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture.

• Establish performance objectives and assess team progress, offering feedback and guidance.

• Manage billing and revenue recognition for Platform Services, covering insurance, marketing, and platform services.

• Conduct accounting and reconciliation for the Merchant Capital Advance.

• Assist external auditors during interim and annual audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support for revenue recognition and financial reporting.

• Champion the company's core values and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is advantageous.

• A minimum of 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including direct involvement with payment processing or transactional revenue; a background in public accounting (preferably Big 4) is a plus.

• At least 3 years of experience in people management, with a proven history of hiring, developing, and leading high-quality teams.

• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with NetSuite and Zuora is a plus.

• Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, with demonstrated knowledge in revenue recognition under ASC 606, including multiple-element arrangements and gross versus net presentation.

• Familiarity with internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX-style control design, documentation, and testing support.

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and the capability to analyze complex situations and formulate effective solutions.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage and collaborate with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners.

• Execution-oriented, with a solid commitment to deadlines and the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to think proactively, establish clear goals, and devise long-term plans that align with organizational objectives.
