Accounting Manager – Renewable Energy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Lead the accounting, financial reporting, and operational initiatives for renewable energy projects and entities.

• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.

• Review schedules for project assets, debts, depreciation, capital expenditures, and general ledger activities.

• Prepare and review financial reports, management reports, workpapers, and technical accounting documentation.

• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS requirements, where applicable.

• Coordinate with internal teams, external auditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders.

• Review financing schedules, debt agreements, and compliance with covenants.

• Support project-level financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.

• Lead process walkthroughs, control testing, and the identification of process or control gaps.

• Develop and implement process enhancements to reinforce accounting and financial controls.

• Ensure vendor, treasury, and financial processes adhere to established controls and segregation-of-duties requirements.

• Monitor project and operational data to guarantee accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.

• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical direction to accounting and finance team members.

• Assist in renewable energy development, construction, and asset operations initiatives.

• Stay updated on renewable energy industry practices, regulatory requirements, financing structures, and accounting standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, audit, or renewable energy.

• Experience managing or supporting multi-entity organizations, preferably within renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate, or project-based sectors.

• Required experience in renewable energy; familiarity with solar and wind projects is highly desirable.

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.

• Experience in project accounting, financial reporting, asset accounting, or project finance.

• Preference for candidates with CPA, CIA, CISA, or equivalent professional certification.

• Proven experience leading projects, processes, or accounting/finance teams.

• Strong understanding of internal controls, financial reporting, and audit requirements.

• Ability to prioritize, organize, manage time, and work independently while meeting deadlines.

• Flexibility to align with U.S. hours (PST) based on collaboration and business deadlines.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft 365.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial and operational data.

• High degree of professionalism and tact in interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
