Accounting Manager – Insurance Agency

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of carrier statements and oversee direct-bill commission reconciliations.

• Handle agency-bill refunds, manage carrier payables, address exceptions, and calculate producer commissions.

• Supervise offshore accounting support.

• Document processes and carry out quality control checks.

• Set up carriers for newly acquired agencies.

• Enhance reconciliation tools and optimize workflows.

• Collaborate directly with the CFO as the second finance hire.

• Contribute to improving operations across acquired insurance agencies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in accounting.

• Minimum of three years of relevant experience in insurance agency accounting.

• Five to seven years of experience is preferred.

• Hands-on expertise in at least one area: commission statement reconciliation, agency billing, or producer commissions.

• Experience in two of these areas is particularly valuable.

• Proven track record of taking ownership of tasks, resolving discrepancies, and enhancing processes.

• Experience with Applied Epic accounting is a significant advantage.

• Coordination with offshore teams and experience across multiple agencies is beneficial.

• Previous management experience is optional.

• Familiarity with Ascend, IVANS, and QuickBooks Online is an additional plus.

• A CPA is not required.

• Availability to work during Eastern business hours.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
