This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Examine invoices, journal entries, and various transactions to ensure correct cost classification.
• Facilitate tenant billing by guaranteeing that recoverable costs are properly recorded and billed according to lease agreements.
• Identify and track reimbursable and non-reimbursable costs.
• Keep accounting records that support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Investigate discrepancies, prepare correction entries, and manage cost reclassifications.
• Maintain documentation that is ready for audits and transaction-level support.
• Work alongside Construction and Financial Analysis teams on cost coding.
• Assist in gathering year-end audit documentation for both internal and external auditors.
• Carry out quarter-end fixed asset responsibilities as necessary.
• Aid in the monthly close process, journal-entry support, reconciliations, internal reporting, global allocation processes, and non-routine projects.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience is mandatory.
• 3–4 years of experience at a public accounting firm or 7 or more years in an accounting role is required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint is necessary.
• Capability to collaborate across the organization and achieve required tasks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills are crucial.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and process optimization is expected.
• Up to 5% travel may be required, with potential for increase over time.
• Experience in the real estate industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Background in finance is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with SOX is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of Yardi is preferred but not mandatory.
