This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nigeria.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for various entities.
• Prepare and review both entity-level and consolidated financial statements, such as P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Maintain reconciliations, schedules, journal entries, and necessary supporting documentation.
• Resolve issues related to intercompany accounts and eliminations.
• Oversee the accounting treatment for B2B products, contracts, revenue, fees, settlements, and client balances.
• Accurately and timely record commissions, partner transactions, and settlement flows.
• Collaborate with the Settlement, Revenue Assurance, Operations, Commercial, and Treasury teams.
• Convert complex, high-volume transaction flows into auditable accounting entries.
• Enhance controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury, reconciliations, and intercompany movements.
• Identify and rectify gaps in the accounting process and refine accounting procedures.
• Apply appropriate accounting treatment to fiat and cryptocurrency transactions, covering valuation, custody, fees, and taxes.
• Minimize manual tasks, errors, and reliance on undocumented knowledge.
• Maintain up-to-date, audit-ready accounting policies, process notes, schedules, and documentation.
• Prepare accounting records and supporting documents for external audits.
• Collaborate with auditors to address queries and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist with tax filings and statutory reporting across relevant jurisdictions.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS and applicable statutory requirements.
• Identify and escalate risks related to accounting, control, and reporting.
• Support budgeting and forecasting with reliable entity-level data.
• Analyze variances and clarify material movements.
• Assist the CFO with accounting analysis and financial information for decision-making.
• Report directly to the CFO and collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Settlement, Revenue Assurance, Operations, and Leadership teams.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least two years at the Senior Associate level or higher, or as an Assistant Manager or above.
• Demonstrated hands-on ownership of accounting numbers.
• Experience in a top-tier audit or professional services setting, or a similarly complex multi-entity organization.
• Exposure to multiple engagements, high transaction volumes, and stringent reporting and control standards.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ICAN, CPA, or an equivalent credential.
• Strong practical understanding of IFRS and financial statement preparation.
• Experience managing complex reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting challenges across multiple accounts or entities.
• Proven experience with month-end and year-end close processes, internal controls, and audit preparation.
• Exposure to complex accounts, multiple entities, or high transaction volumes.
• Proficient spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to work effectively without relying heavily on an ERP system.
• Comfortable engaging in detailed accounting work and conversing with senior stakeholders.
• Dependable, organized, and capable of taking ownership without close supervision.
• Nice to have: experience supporting complex audit, reporting, or finance transformation projects.
• Nice to have: familiarity with group consolidations and multi-jurisdiction reporting.
• Nice to have: experience in financial services, banking, payments, fintech, or similarly intricate client engagements.
• Nice to have: knowledge of QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or comparable platforms.
