Accounting Lead – CPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of essential month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, which include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Support the management of high-volume transaction processing, billing reconciliations, and SaaS revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.

• Generate precise financial statements and accompanying schedules for management reports and external audits.

• Discover opportunities to enhance and automate accounting processes.

• Utilize contemporary fintech solutions to manage the high-volume transaction flow efficiently.

• Aid in adhering to local, state, and federal compliance obligations, including sales tax Nexus and corporate tax submissions.

• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Data teams to maintain financial data accuracy and address transactional discrepancies.

• Articulate technical accounting policies effectively to a variety of personalities and leadership styles.

• Work together to resolve sensitive financial discrepancies that span multiple departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or high-volume technology firms managing extensive datasets.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• Experience with Big 4 or a large regional public accounting firm is preferred but not mandatory.

• CPA certification or being a CPA candidate is highly advantageous.

• Proficient in advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Index/Match.

• Familiarity with cloud-based ERPs.

• Experience with Rillet is considered highly beneficial.

• Knowledge of Stripe is a significant plus.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently, communicate proactively, and collaborate effectively with a distributed team using Slack, Zoom, and project management tools.
