Accounting Clerk

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices, which includes downloading and coding them into the accounting system.

• Maintain well-organized and comprehensive electronic accounting records along with supporting documentation.

• Conduct extensive invoice reconciliations and submit them to department managers for approval prior to payment.

• Analyze vendor statements to ensure that all expenses are accurately captured in the general ledger.

• Address invoice discrepancies and follow up with both vendors and internal departments.

• Oversee weekly vendor payment cycles utilizing wires, ACH, and EFT methods with USD and CAD bank accounts.

• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate any outstanding or disputed balances.

• Offer backup support for Accounts Receivable functions.

• Respond to customer inquiries via calls and emails regarding payments, account balances, and invoice-related questions.

• Process customer payments, including EFT, credit card, and cheque transactions within the accounting system and online banking.

• Perform additional tasks as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting; experience in Accounts Payable is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

• Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capable of working independently and efficiently in a remote setting.

• Position based in Ontario, Canada.

• Availability to work from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
