Accounting and Tax Manager – 6 Month FTC

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee German statutory accounting and reporting processes

• Prepare annual statutory financial statements for entities based in Germany

• Lead and provide support to a team of General Ledger Accountants

• Collaborate with outsourced accounting partners to address complex issues and enhance processes

• Manage external audits and fulfill reporting obligations annually

• Supervise month-end closing activities, approval of journals, and reviews of financial statements

• Serve as the escalation point for accounting-related inquiries

• Ensure tax compliance and manage relationships with advisers

• Coordinate corporate income tax filings in Germany with external advisers

• Assist with tax audits related to corporate tax, VAT, and property tax

• Maintain connections with tax authorities and external partners

• Guarantee adherence to withholding tax requirements and reporting duties

• Support IFRS tax reporting, including provisions for current and deferred taxes

• Lead monthly tax reconciliations and identify opportunities for improvements

• Implement and uphold transfer pricing arrangements

• Keep abreast of tax and regulatory changes

• Assist with treasury functions, payment reviews, and cash repatriation efforts

• Act as the Finance Lead for banking migration initiatives and user acceptance testing

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified professional in accounting or tax

• Extensive experience in German accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and German GAAP

• Experience collaborating with external auditors and tax advisers

• Prior experience in people leadership or mentoring

• Exceptional skills in stakeholder management and communication

• Proactive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement

• Proficiency in both German and English
