Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the comprehensive general ledger and accounting functions for designated Sysco entities and accounts.

• Evaluate and authorize monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.

• Review and sanction medium to high-risk journal entries.

• Serve as the escalation contact for specific balance sheet accounts.

• Oversee month-end task lists, including BPC reporting packages for financial consolidation.

• Participate in stakeholder meetings to address open risks and formulate action plans.

• Assess and recommend changes to accounting systems and procedures.

• Develop and execute analytics on key accounts.

• Implement the Financial & Accounting Methods Manual and propose updates.

• Assist with internal and external audit inquiries.

• Review and provide insights on reconciliations, journal entries, and other assigned responsibilities.

• Review and approve standard operating procedures.

• Mentor new Accounting Analysts and Staff Accountants on Sysco's accounting practices and culture.

• Recommend process enhancements and optimize end-to-end procedures.

• Support the Accounting Team Lead with overall team management.

• Undertake special projects as required.

• Ensure compliance with departmental goals, metrics, internal audit findings, and SLAs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of accounting or related experience is required.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

• Ability to analyze and reconcile reports effectively.

• Skill in identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Capable of collaborating cross-functionally to address issues.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

• Proficient in specialized accounting/finance software ERP Systems (e.g., Workday).

• Excellent communication skills.

• Candidates must currently be authorized to work in the United States.
