Accounting Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the general ledger and accounting activities for designated Sysco entities and accounts.

• Review and authorize monthly and quarterly reconciliations of accounts.

• Examine and approve journal entries classified as medium to high risk.

• Act as the escalation contact for balance sheet accounts assigned to you.

• Oversee month-end task lists and BPC reporting packages for financial consolidation.

• Participate in stakeholder meetings to discuss ongoing risks and formulate action plans.

• Evaluate and propose changes to accounting systems and procedures.

• Create and conduct analytics on significant accounts.

• Implement the Financial & Accounting Methods Manual and recommend updates as necessary.

• Assist with requests from internal and external audits.

• Review and provide insights on reconciliations, journal entries, and designated tasks.

• Approve standard operating procedures.

• Guide new Accounting Analysts and Staff Accountants.

• Recommend enhancements and optimize end-to-end processes.

• Support the Accounting Team Lead in overall team management when required.

• Complete special projects as assigned.

• Ensure compliance with departmental goals, metrics, Internal Audit reports, and SLAs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting or a related field is required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is mandatory.

• Strong ability to analyze and reconcile reports.

• Capable of identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Ability to collaborate across functions to address issues.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with specialized accounting/finance software and ERP systems, such as Workday.

• Excellent communication skills are essential.

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
