Accountant – US Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Ensure precise management of QuickBooks Online records, encompassing accounts, customers, vendors, and recurring transactions.

• Oversee accounts payable tasks, which include reviewing bills, validating coding, aligning expenses with purchase orders or projects, and preparing payments for approval.

• Handle accounts receivable functions, such as invoicing, payment application, aging reports, and follow-ups for collections.

• Execute reconciliations for banks, credit cards, and balance sheets while investigating discrepancies.

• Finalize month-end journal entries, conduct account reviews, create supporting schedules, and generate routine financial reports.

• Prepare and assess payroll data, supporting its processing via Paylocity.

• Ensure that labor, materials, invoices, and other expenses are accurately recorded against the appropriate projects.

• Analyze job costs and compare estimated expenses with actual project costs.

• Maintain awareness of upcoming payments and short-term cash flow requirements.

• Organize documentation for regular compliance, tax, and year-end information requests.

• Assist in enhancing the client’s accounting processes across Simpro and QuickBooks Online.

• Work collaboratively with company owners and support staff while independently managing accounting processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.

• Experience in supporting U.S. accounting practices for a U.S.-based organization.

• Proficient practical experience with QuickBooks Online.

• Background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end procedures.

• Experience in preparing or assisting with payroll and project accounting.

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Ability to maintain current records, adhere to recurring deadlines, work independently, and identify errors, unusual transactions, or missing documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

• Proactive, reliable, and comfortable with asking questions or addressing concerns as necessary.

• Experience within a U.S. construction, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or trade-based company is a plus.

• Familiarity with Paylocity or a comparable U.S. payroll system is advantageous.

• Experience with Simpro and other field-service or project-management software is a plus.
