Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Conduct fluctuation analyses and develop financial schedules for designated entities.

• Execute monthly reconciliations of balance sheets and intercompany accounts.

• Evaluate customer contracts to ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards under ASC 606.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, which include journal entries, accruals, and account analyses.

• Support audit-related inquiries by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.

• Utilize ERP and consolidation systems, such as OneStream, to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity.

• Create and maintain basic to moderate automation solutions, including RPA bots, workflow automation, Excel/Power Query tools, and scripts.

• Engage in system implementations, reporting improvements, and internal control (SOX) initiatives.

• Adhere to GAAP, internal policies, and internal control standards.

• Report to the Manager of Financial Reporting, Revenue Recognition, and SOX Compliance.

• Contribute to the enhancement of processes within the accounting department.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; or 1 year of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field.

• Strong grasp of GAAP, fundamental accounting principles, and financial statements.

• Experience in multi-entity accounting or consolidations.

• Practical knowledge of reconciliations, closing processes, and journal entries.

• Familiarity with mid-to-large ERP systems.

• Capability to build or enhance accounting tools using Excel, including macros, formulas, templates, and Power Query.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across various departments.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

• CPA certification or actively pursuing it is preferred.

• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, OneStream, SAP, or other ERP/consolidation systems is preferred.

• Practical experience with financial consolidation tools like OneStream, CFIN, or SAP Analytics Cloud is preferred.

• Familiarity with RPA tools or equivalent automation platforms is preferred.

• Experience in technical accounting research and memo writing is preferred.

• Knowledge of data visualization/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred.
