This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Ensure precise management of general ledger accounts and supporting documentation, adhering to GAAP and company policies.
• Prepare, review, and record recurring, accrual, allocation, reclassification, and adjusting journal entries.
• Create and uphold allocation methodologies for expenses across various departments, entities, locations, programs, or service lines.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and general ledger accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
• Generate standard financial reports, management schedules, variance analyses, and special or ad hoc reports.
• Analyze financial activities, detect unusual trends or errors, and suggest corrective entries or process enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with finance, operations, revenue cycle, accounts payable, payroll, and other departments.
• Provide schedules and documentation for internal reviews, external audits, and compliance requests.
• Safeguard confidential financial and healthcare-related information while adhering to privacy, security, and internal control standards.
• Enhance and document accounting processes, reporting tools, and Excel-based workflows.
• Undertake additional accounting projects and assigned responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience, including practical general ledger, journal entry, reconciliation, and month-end close tasks.
• Accounting experience in the healthcare sector, such as hospitals, physician groups, home health agencies, pharmacies, health plans, or other healthcare service organizations.
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, IF statements, data validation, and large-data analysis.
• Familiarity with an enterprise resource planning or general ledger system.
• Proven accuracy, analytical skills, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
• Capability to handle competing priorities, adhere to tight deadlines, and communicate effectively in a remote setting.
• Experience in multi-location entity accounting, intercompany transactions, cost-center allocations, or service-line reporting.
• Knowledge of reporting, business intelligence, automation, or data-query tools.
