This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
• Contribute to the month-end closing process while enhancing the speed and accuracy of closures.
• Take ownership of and manage the accounts receivable process from start to finish.
• Maintain current aging records, and manage credits and collections effectively.
• Account for uncollectible amounts and resolve miscellaneous discrepancies.
• Provide support to the UK entity regarding payroll reviews and VAT returns.
• Ensure financial data remains organized, reconciled, and ready for audits.
• Manage high-volume payment flows through various gateways, banks, and currencies.
• Assist with accounts payable and payroll journals, including setups for international payroll and external providers.
• Aid in responding to audit queries.
• Collaborate with the accountant for the German entity and partners in Slovenia.
• Identify inefficient or unscalable processes and work towards improving or automating them.
• Report directly to the Financial Controller and collaborate with another Accountant and Slovenian partners.
• 2–5 years of experience in a practical accounting role such as Accountant, GL Accountant, or Financial Accountant.
• Ideally, experience in a SaaS or rapidly growing environment.
• Strong accounting background: ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, or currently pursuing one.
• Familiarity with UK accounting practices including UK GAAP and/or IFRS in multi-entity or international contexts.
• Capability to identify and enhance processes proactively.
• Confidence in managing high transaction volumes, reconciliations, and complex tasks.
• Demonstrated ownership and ability to complete assigned responsibilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
• Effective communication skills across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Exposure to broader EU accounting frameworks, particularly in Germany or Slovenia, is a plus.
• Familiarity with NetSuite is advantageous.
• Experience in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, or high-growth setting is beneficial.
• A practical approach to enhancing and automating repetitive tasks.
• Must reside in Europe, preferably within the CET time zone or a nearby region.
• Include the word "ledger" in the opening sentence of your cover letter.
