This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Drive growth and leadership for HPE Networking’s Higher Education sector in Colorado and New Mexico.
• Act as the main contact and trusted advisor for state government entities, universities, community colleges, and higher education systems.
• Take ownership of account strategy and implementation throughout the region.
• Create and implement multi-year account plans that align with customer objectives.
• Establish senior IT, executive, and operational relationships within institutions.
• Uphold customer trust, satisfaction, and foster long-term loyalty.
• Manage full-cycle sales processes from discovery to closing.
• Propel pipeline development, forecasting, and quarterly execution.
• Navigate intricate RFP/RFQ processes.
• Recognize customer needs and effectively communicate HPE’s value proposition using a consultative methodology.
• Collaborate with sales engineers, channel partners, distributors, and specialized functions.
• Organize technical and cross-functional teams for unified account execution.
• Keep track of higher education market trends, network modernization strategies, and competitive landscapes.
• Contribute to territory planning, business reviews, and process enhancements.
• Represent HPE Networking in customer interactions, executive briefings, and events related to the education sector.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technology sales or account management.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including data center switching, WAN, Wi-Fi, security, and consumption-based models.
• Experience in selling to SLED, public sector, or higher education is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven capability in managing complex accounts and multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
• Demonstrated success in collaborating with technical teams and channel ecosystems.
• Exceptional communication, discovery, and relationship-building abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
• Familiarity with HPE Networking, Aruba, Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking vendors is preferred.
• Understanding of higher education procurement cycles, grants, and long-term budgeting is a plus.
• Experience with HPE GreenLake or similar consumption/aaS models is preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in competitive displacement scenarios are desired.
