This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Expand Agilent's market presence in chromatography, mass spectrometry, and associated consumables and services throughout the territory.
• Achieve or surpass designated sales goals.
• Actively seek out new clients and opportunities, generate demand, and penetrate competitive markets.
• Establish and maintain enduring relationships with researchers, faculty members, lab managers, and procurement teams.
• Create and implement a strategic, action-oriented territory plan targeting both academic and commercial accounts.
• Ensure satisfaction among the existing customer base.
• Respond to customer inquiries via calls and emails within 24 hours.
• Deliver precise quotes within 24–48 hours.
• Collaborate with Product Specialists, Consumables and Supplies, Service, and colleagues from One Agilent.
• Provide accurate monthly and quarterly sales predictions.
• Maintain updates in Salesforce CRM, manage expense reporting, and oversee business reporting.
• Serve the chemicals and energy, materials science, pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical, life science research, clinical, environmental, forensics, and food sectors across Upstate New York.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or a related physical or life science field from an accredited institution.
• Over 1 year of relevant experience in scientific or laboratory settings involving analytical instrumentation (GC, LC, MS) or in field sales and customer-facing roles.
• Fundamental understanding of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or similar analytical processes.
• Capability to navigate complex sales cycles that involve multiple stakeholders, funding sources, and procurement methods.
• Proficiency in building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and consultative selling abilities.
• Strong skills in self-management, organization, territory planning, and time management.
• Ability to work efficiently in both team-selling contexts and independently in a performance-focused environment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving history.
• Preferred: More than 1 year of sales experience in analytical instrumentation, laboratory technology, life sciences, or a comparable scientific market.
• Preferred: Background in selling to pharmaceutical, academic, university, government, or research laboratory settings.
• Preferred: Advanced technical knowledge of chromatography, mass spectrometry, or associated analytical workflows.
• Preferred: Proven history of consistently meeting or exceeding sales objectives and increasing market share.
