This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Drive growth in bookings within a designated Southern California area.
• Act as the main account manager for Solar Turbines.
• Develop and grow accounts across various sites, business units, and product platforms.
• Foster new relationships with smaller accounts.
• Market and sell WEG High Voltage Solutions products, including medium and high voltage motors, NEMA low voltage motors, and medium voltage drives, to end users, OEMs, and EPCs.
• Strategize and implement territory and account plans.
• Create and execute an annual account plan for Solar Turbines, and review the progress with management.
• Establish and nurture relationships across engineering, procurement, project management, and senior leadership.
• Develop calling and coverage strategies for OEMs, EPCs, and end users.
• Analyze RFQs, interpret intricate technical specifications, and formulate quotation strategies.
• Identify project and customer factors influencing pricing, scope, and delivery commitments.
• Prepare accurate quotations in coordination with Application Engineering and factory teams.
• Prepare and present business cases for alternative pricing options.
• Lead opportunities from RFQ through negotiation to order closure.
• Review and confirm purchase orders against the quoted scope, commercial terms, and pricing.
• Maintain opportunity, forecast, and account records in the CRM system.
• Organize quotation and order documents electronically.
• Collaborate with Application Engineering, Field Sales, customers, and manufacturing facilities.
• Enhance industry knowledge through research, conferences, publications, and site visits.
• Report quarterly activities to management.
• Provide guidance to internal partners and junior team members on intricate account, specification, and quotation issues.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical), Business, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.
• Comprehensive knowledge of medium and high voltage motors, medium voltage drives, and their applications in turbomachinery, oil and gas, power generation, water, and general industrial markets.
• Familiarity with OEM, EPC, and end user specification practices, purchasing processes, and project procurement cycles.
• Proven experience in the electric machines sector in a direct sales or account management capacity.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM platforms, and WEG's internal quotation systems.
• Expertise in consultative and technical selling.
• Experience in contract and price negotiation.
• Ability to independently plan territory and accounts.
• Skillful in interpreting complex customer and project specifications.
• Competent in opportunity qualification, forecasting, and pipeline management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with technical, procurement, and executive audiences.
• Ability to adjust communication style and influence partners who may be unfamiliar with the subject matter.
• Keen attention to detail and disciplined documentation practices.
• Strong time management skills and a sense of urgency.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong customer focus.
