This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Promote and sell Azenta’s Sample Repository Services, encompassing biorepository operations, laboratory sample processing, validated temperature-controlled storage, cryo-storage, sample management, transportation, relocation, and associated customer workflows.
• Expand and cultivate relationships with both new and existing clients across government, public-sector, academic, research, healthcare, and scientific organizations.
• Create and follow up on leads generated from marketing campaigns, referrals, inbound inquiries, events, and field sales activities, including government and public-sector opportunities.
• Identify, assess, and respond to sales opportunities within the government and public sector, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, tenders, bid boards, agency communications, procurement portals, and prime-contractor opportunities.
• Maintain account and territory plans for key customers and prospects.
• Organize and deliver presentations that showcase Azenta’s SRS capabilities, quality systems, cold-chain logistics, repository footprint, and service portfolio.
• Represent Azenta during customer visits, virtual meetings, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and other market development initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop quotations, proposals, customer presentations, procurement responses, contract inputs, pricing information, and opportunity documentation.
• Partner with sales account managers, Project Management, Operations, Quality, Legal, Contracts, Finance, Sales Operations, and other stakeholders.
• Collect customer intelligence and feedback to enhance service quality, customer experience, and the development of new services.
• Maintain records of customer, lead, opportunity, activity, and forecast information in Salesforce CRM.
• Provide reports on pipeline status, sales activity, forecast updates, customer feedback, and progress toward annual revenue targets.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a degree in a science-related field is preferred.
• Experience in sales, business development, or account management within life sciences, laboratory services, sample management, biorepository, cold-storage, cryo-storage, cold-chain logistics, or related scientific services.
• Preferred experience selling to government, public-sector, academic research, healthcare, or regulated laboratory clients.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM platform is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer relationship skills, with the capacity to understand customer needs and clearly articulate relevant services and solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, effectively managing customer activities, follow-up actions, and sales opportunities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• A consultative approach to selling, customer engagement, opportunity qualification, and follow-through.
• Familiarity with quotations, proposals, tenders, public-sector procurement, or government purchasing processes is preferred but not mandatory.
• A valid U.S. driver’s license is required; ability to travel for customer visits, internal meetings, seminars, conferences, exhibitions, and other business needs.
• Must be willing and able to travel overnight within the United States; expected travel is approximately 50% to 60%.
• Must reside within the assigned sales territory or in reasonable proximity to a major airport that enables effective coverage of the assigned market.
