This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary advocate and regional leader for the designated area.
• Establish the strategic direction for AbbVie’s market access goals.
• Supervise regional initiatives and function as the main point of contact for key customers.
• Create and execute local market access plans and influence mapping.
• Identify key access customers, emerging markets, and significant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Area Access Director regarding direct customer contracts in the area.
• Ensure that contracts align with AbbVie’s Area Market Access strategies and objectives.
• Maintain ongoing customer relationships and address any issues that arise.
• Coordinate with Centers of Excellence, Area Directors, Area Strategists, FRMs, MOSLs, and Patient Support Services.
• Identify opportunities for regional growth and propose initiatives to enhance access and strengthen customer relationships.
• Keep track of industry trends and competitor movements.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators.
• Utilize data analytics, including MABI, to evaluate contract effectiveness and improve performance.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of sales management experience; experience as a District Manager or Regional Manager is preferred.
• Experience in account management and/or marketing within the healthcare industry or a related field.
• At least 2 years of account management experience in a Group Practice/Payor/Institutional setting is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a large, complex geography and to influence a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience in contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and achieving commercial results.
• Capability to manage cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel 25% of the time, including visits to on-site customer locations and AbbVie’s Chicago headquarters.
• Should reside within the region, preferably near a major airport.
• An advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) is preferred.
• Preferred in-depth understanding of regional payer landscapes, healthcare policies, and key customer segments.
• Proficiency in data analytics and strategic/decision-making tools is preferred.
