Access Care Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact for patients who have given consent, guiding them from enrollment through to the initiation and continuation of therapy.

• Carry out assessments of patient needs to address issues related to coverage, affordability, and logistical challenges.

• Facilitate coordination of care among healthcare providers, caregivers, and various care sites.

• Take responsibility for the complete progression of patients and work to eliminate access barriers.

• Serve as a field-based authority on reimbursement, coverage pathways, and payer policies that affect Pfizer therapies.

• Advise stakeholders on prior authorization processes, step edits, coding, and specific payer requirements.

• Address reimbursement issues through escalation and effective coordination.

• Provide compliant education regarding reimbursement procedures, coverage pathways, patient access resources, hub services, enrollment processes, and financial assistance programs.

• Create and implement strategies for account-level access.

• Identify systemic obstacles and enhance workflows to minimize delays in therapy initiation.

• Engage with payer organizations to clarify coverage policies and tackle access challenges.

• Promote effective communication among healthcare provider offices, payers, and patient support programs.

• Offer internal insights on payer trends, reimbursement issues, and access barriers.

• Convert field insights into actionable recommendations across functions.

• Collaborate with Sales, Key Account Managers, Marketing, and Patient Solutions teams.

• Participate in strategic account planning and coordinated, patient-focused access initiatives.

• Report directly to the Regional Director of Patient Access & Reimbursement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or related customer-facing roles; 9 years if holding a Master's degree, BSN, or RPH.

• At least 3–5 years of experience in Specialty Pharma.

• Experience in Reimbursement and Access is essential.

• Background in the Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical sectors, Provider/Carrier Networks, or Government Agencies is preferred.

• Experience in the Cardiology sector is preferred.

• Strong understanding of Reimbursement, Government Payment Systems, Provider/Carrier Networks, Co-Pay Assistance Programs, and specialty policy dynamics within the Rare Disease Community.

• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

• Experience in strategic planning and successful execution of plans.

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and work across internal boundaries with multiple stakeholders.

• Capability to operate within a highly regulated environment while adhering to strict compliance guidelines and procedures.

• Documented success in working with a diverse range of customers, clients, and stakeholders.

• Training and experience in responsible business communication, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.

• Must be able to operate a Pfizer company car.

• Willingness to travel regularly by air and visit HCP offices as required; approximately 30% travel is expected.

• Proximity to a major airline hub is necessary.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. by any employer.

• Permanent work authorization in the United States is required.
