Academic Program Director – Nursing and Health Sciences, MSN Programs

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Promote and support a high-quality academic experience for students.

• Ensure a dynamic courseroom atmosphere that encourages the achievement of program goals.

• Oversee the quality and rigor of the curriculum.

• Guarantee that curricula are professionally pertinent, up-to-date, efficient, effective, and cohesive.

• Manage activities associated with curriculum design and implementation, assessment effectiveness, learner success, satisfaction, and engagement.

• Collaborate closely with deans, assistant/associate deans, faculty directors, and university departments.

• Oversee systems and processes related to curriculum development and delivery.

• Coordinate with faculty directors concerning discipline-specific content.

• Liaise with Portfolio Strategy, Doctoral Affairs, Course Development, Center for Faculty Excellence, Faculty Hiring, HR, Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness, and Learner Affairs.

• Lead and manage the development and revision of academic offerings.

• Utilize analytics and evidence-based practices to foster continuous quality improvement.

• Ensure that academic programmatic accreditation and/or licensure is obtained and upheld.

• Align academic offerings with professional trends and standards.

• Supervise curriculum development in accordance with external standards and university design principles.

• Oversee SME course development and leadership.

• Guide specialized accreditation processes and self-studies.

• Build and maintain internal and external partnerships.

• Optimize course offerings and scheduling.

• Supervise Core faculty and conduct performance evaluations.

• Host faculty meetings focused on programs and curricula.

• Collaborate with the Faculty Director on the recruitment of new faculty.

• Address learner programmatic concerns.

• Teach or mentor once each quarter.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in an accredited program or a related field.

• Online higher education teaching experience is required.

• Proven leadership experience in academia or a practitioner setting.

• Significant supervisory and leadership experience with faculty, including recruitment, retention, performance outcomes, and development.

• Preferred experience managing and collaborating with remote teams and within a matrix environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs is preferred.

• Ability to travel as needed is required.

• Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP, or a related terminal degree) from an accredited institution is required.

• A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution is required.

• All degrees must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must be able to travel 10% of the time.

• Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs.

• Mobility within the office, including movement between floors, is necessary.

• Travel by plane, car, and metro may be required.

• Must be able to work over 40 hours per week when business needs require it.

• Ability to access information using a computer.

• Effective communication up and down the management hierarchy.

• Ability to manage stress effectively.

• Strong mental acuity.

• Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are critical.

• Demonstrated contribution to the discipline, such as publishing, committee involvement, or participation in professional associations is preferred.
