This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +5 more countries.
• Create module content for one of the four courses within the FinTech Engineering Specialization.
• Develop labs, a reference implementation, an evaluation harness, and an instructor guide.
• Produce high-quality examples and exercises that reflect systems designed by leading fintech companies in Latin America.
• Connect academia and industry by providing practical education aligned with industry requirements.
• Contribute to the delivery of a FinTech Engineering Specialization aimed at mid-to-senior software engineers.
• Relevant professional experience in a payments fintech operating in Latin America (such as Clip, dLocal, Kushki, Ebanx, Stone, Conekta, or similar).
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, including a minimum of 3 years in FinTech, payments, or financial services.
• Proficient in writing examples, labs, and exercises in both Go and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong command of written English; content must be clear and technically accurate for mid-to-senior engineers.
• Production-oriented mindset: design for what engineers implement in real systems rather than academic exercises.
• Familiarity with card transaction flows: ISO 8583 authorization, capture, reversal, settlement; issuer-to-merchant actor chain; BIN routing; acquiring models; interchange; and understanding of ISO 20022.
• Hands-on experience with the integration of at least one of PIX (Brazil), SPEI (Mexico), or Transferencias 3.0 (Argentina), including QR payloads, interoperability, and settlement flows.
• Knowledge of multi-tenant, event-sourced, double-entry ledgers; isolation levels; locking; idempotency; transaction state machines; and preventing double-spending under high concurrency.
• Understanding of Latin American clearing and settlement networks such as SLC, CERC, Prosa, ACH, and Coelsa, in addition to BaaS/Ledger-as-a-Service integration.
• Familiarity with at least one Latin American regulatory framework: BACEN, CNBV, BCRA, or SFC; settlement finality, non-repudiation, and audit trails as engineering considerations.
• Conceptual understanding of stablecoin settlement for cross-border transactions.
• Experience in creating technical documentation, including RFCs, ADRs, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Proficiency in Spanish is a plus for providing contextual regulatory insights for specific Latin American markets.
